Hananui and Tokoeka PurePods welcomed their first guests as of October 2022 are nestled within the wild that is the untouched region of Rakiura Stewart Island. Behind the predator-proof fence of the reserve amongst the majesty of the most southern Dark Sky Sanctuary this new venture is looking to provide not only income to further support conservation projects but a bucket list stay for all that seek it. They are perfectly positioned to take full advantage of the stunning skyscape views, turquoise sea and white sand beaches. Like the other PurePod locations, they are deliberately free of a wi-fi connection, private and environmentally friendly.
"Privacy is assured at the Rakiura PurePods due to them being tucked away behind the predator-proof fence," said Ms Hassall.
Hananui and Tokoeka PurePods have minimal impact on the natural environment while offering a luxurious way to experience nature. The PurePod uses sustainable energy, minimising the use of non-renewable energy sources. Rainwater that falls on the roof is returned to the surrounding area to water the native plants.
